Airfield is an urban working farm donated to the city of Dublin by a pair of philanthropic sisters. Now an educational trust, Airfield hosts everything from specialty gardening classes, musical performances, exhibitions, tours to visit baby lambs and foals, classic car shows and so much more! With endless gardens, a charming cafe with homemade jam and fresh scones and endless opportunities for wandering and pondering—you couldn’t find a better way to spend an afternoon. On the events agenda at Airfield this week is Gerald Peregrine as he presents a special autumn recital featuring selected Bach Suites for Solo Cello in a uniquely intimate performance in Airfield’s candlelit Library room. A critically acclaimed international soloist and chamber musician, Gerald is the youngest member of a well known musical family. His many accolades include a period as RTE Lyric FM Artist in Residence in 2007, performing as Soloist with the RTE National Symphony Orchestra and two successful recital series in the National Concert Hall.
‘Gerald Peregrine plays the cello as if born to it, with a deceptive effortless command of its expressive possibilities ‘ The Irish Times
