Love: live music is Ireland’s National Music Day. It is a celebration of all forms of music in Ireland through free nationwide music events. The day aims to promote access to music for all, regardless of location or circumstance, and to encourage active participation in music events. Events on the day range from performances by national performing groups, to busking, music in the workplace events, workshops in schools, and music in public spaces. All genres, all instruments and all levels, from beginner to professional, are welcome to join in the celebration! The performances incorporate all genres from big bands to buskers, hip-hop to Bartok and everything in between. Love:live music provides an opportunity for all organisations to increase local, regional and national profile through engagement with a national event. Along with the various events happening around the country the have flagship event taking place at the Sugar Club (Gen’s favourite venue) in Dublin at 8.30 with Mick Flannery, the Dublin Guitar Quartet, The Listeners and Michael McHale.
